It is a red-letter day for the Autocar Performance Show as the 10th edition of the exclusive event for high-performance cars and bikes, accessories and the latest in in-car entertainment technology in India opens today. There’s also the Stuff Gadget Show, a hi-end gadget show showcasing premium brands and the latest tech products. The four-day show is being held at the MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.

The Autocar Performance Show, since its inception in 2005, has grown bigger and better with more and more brands participating and the crowd figures increasing exponentially. Importantly, manufacturers have begun taking this show seriously by displaying their best products and the quality of the stands which are built to global standards. The number of visitors has been steadily increasing every year too, at a healthy average and after the Auto Expo, this is the next biggest auto show in the country.

The significance of this year's show is that some manufacturers are using it as a platform to launch new products whilst others are using it to showcase an all-new model to gauge customer reaction. While Audi will display the S5, DC Design will have the Avanti, GM India the all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer and Bajaj Auto the just-launched Avenger cruiser line-up and the all-black edition of the Pulsar RS 200, the live action arena like the Toyota Fortuner 4x4 Performance Drive and the Maruti Autocross have been designed to generate a lot of participation. And on the other Mercedes-Benz India will aim to spread road safety awareness in the country with its Safe Roads initiative.

Autocar Performance Show 2015 was inaugurated by Subhash Desai, minister of industries for Maharashtra, and Hormazd Sorabjee, editor, Autocar India. Commenting on the show, Sorabjee said: "We are very excited about the 10th anniversary of the show this year and look forward to executing even bigger editions in the years to come. The Autocar Performance Show will always be a platform which brings the entire auto industry under one roof and gives auto enthusiasts of Mumbai a chance to see the hottest cars and bikes in the market."

Some of the carmakers this year at the show include Audi India, Bentley, Big Boy Toys, BMW India, Chevrolet, Fiat India, Ford Motors, Honda Cars India, Hyundai Motor India, Isuzu Motor India, Jaguar Land Rover, Maruti Suzuki India, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Nissan, Porsche, Renault, Rolls-Royce, Skoda, Tata Motors, Toyota, Volvo and Volkswagen.

Two-wheeler OEMs are represented by Bajaj Auto, BMW Motorrad, DSK Benelli, Indian Chief, Harley-Davidson, Triumph Motorcycles and Yamaha.
