Tata Motors has suddenly begun showing its aggressive side. Fresh from the launch of the Hexa crossover on January 18 and then a display of a raft of new eco-friendly buses for India a week later, the company has set off on a 44-city road show called ‘Small Commercial Vehicle Application Expo’ – ‘Har Business ka Ace’.

The road show, which is aimed at further accelerating sales of the popular Tata Ace range of small CVs, has till now been held in Mumbai, Jaipur, Udaipur, Bhubaneshwar, and Bikaner. The travelling expo showcases a varied range of fully built applications on its Ace brand of mini-trucks, with 11 fully built, last-mile solutions, ranging from steel containers, refrigerated containers, insulated containers, hoppers, box tippers, water-tankers to a cafeteria on wheels.

Tata Motors says the Ace range of SCVs offers superior safety, maximum performance in varied conditions and  is comfortable and easy to maintain. The Ace range is customisable for a varied business needs, right from catering to e-commerce delivery.

By displaying the versatility of the Ace mini-trucks, Tata Motors is targeting new and existing small commercial vehicle customers, offering them an opportunity to explore newer businesses and providing them employability options with ready-for-business vehicles. The company aims to reach out to customers across over 30 locations in India, giving them an understanding of the advantages of a fully built vehicle for commercial applications.

According to R T Wasan, VP (Sales and Marketing), Tata Motors, “At Tata Motors, we understand our customers’ requirements and the launch of the SCV Application Expo is yet another innovative example of addressing emerging needs for a safer, more comfortable and a reliable commercial vehicle experience.

It is also to be noted that over the past year or so, Tata Motors’ small CV market share has come under pressure from an ambitious Mahindra & Mahindra.
