Suresh Krishna retires from Sundaram Fasteners; Arathi Krishna takes charge as MD
Arati Krishna and Arundathi Krishna appointed as Managing Director and Joint Managing Director of Sundaram Fasteners respectively.
Suresh Krishna hands over the reins of Sundaram Fasteners to Arathi Krishna and Arundathi Krishna after being at the helm of the business operations of the company since its inception in 1964.
The board of directors of Sundaram Fasteners has come to terms to accept the retirement of Suresh Krishna as the Managing Director of the company, effective from April 20, 2018. The same board has appointed Arathi Krishna as the Managing Director and Arundathi Krishna as the Joint Managing Director of Sundaram Fasteners, again to be effective from the same date.
Arathi Krishna had been serving as the Joint Managing Director since 2011 and had been on the board since 2006. Arundathi Krishna had been serving as the Deputy Managing Director since 2013 and had been on the board since 2008. She oversees the operations of the domestic subsidiaries and the international subsidiaries in China and England.
Suresh Krishna had been guiding Sundaram fasteners for more than five decades and has immensely contributed to the growth and diversification of the company. He served as the President of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) during the years 1982-84 and as the President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) during the year 1987-88. The Government of India conferred the ‘Padma Shri’ award on Suresh Krishna in the year 2006 for his contribution to the industry. He will continue to be a Director and Chairman of the Board.
