Rajiv Dube Quits Tata Motors
Rajiv Dube has resigned from the post of President of Tata Motors’ Passenger Car business unit. Dube had expressed intent to resign from the post in order to pursue other interests outside the Tata Group, which has been formally accepted. His exit comes in the background of problems with the Nano which had manufacturing and delivery glitches.

Tata Motors has acknowledged Dube’s contribution to the company who, since 1998 has played an instrumental role in the growth of the company's passenger car business. Dube had joined the Tata Group in 1983, beginning his career in the manufacturing operations of Tata Motors at Jamshedpur.

In 1990, he joined the Tata Administrative Services and was assigned to Tata Industries a year later. With the formation of the passenger car division, he was reassigned to Tata Motors in 1998. He played a key role in launching the company’s first ever car, the Indica. He was also hugely involved with the development of the Nano.

Following his exit from the company, S. Krishnan, Senior Vice President (Commercial) will take charge of the Premier Car Division in addition to his current responsibilities. Also, Girish Wagh, Head of the Small Car Project and the man who was instrumental in the development of the Nano, will now take additional responsibility of the passenger car business' manufacturing operations and product development activities. Both of them will now report to P M Telang, who is the Managing Director, India Operations of Tata Motors.
