Nissan expands network in Kerala, grows all-India dealerships to 64
June 21, 2012: Nissan Motor India inaugurated its fourth dealership in Kerala, Manumatic Nissan in Kannur today.
Inaugurating the dealership, which is a 3S (Space, Sales & Service) facility, Manoj Kumar said: “Nissan has been making every attempt to reach out to its customers as close to their locations as possible, and has successfully opened over 64 dealerships in a span of two years.”
Nissan Motor India currently manufactures the Micra hatchback and Sunny saloon at its Oragadam plant in Tamil Nadu, which has a capacity of 200,000 units per annum. The company recently reported a 98 percent increase in year-on-year sales for May 2012, selling 3,138 units as against 1,588 units sold in May 2011. Growth was driven mainly by sales of the Sunny diesel; since its launch in September 2011, the Sunny has sold 18,753 units.
The company is now gearing up for the Evalia MPV launch later this year.
