Nippon inaugurates first Paint Express workshop in Maharashtra
May 8: Nippon Paints, one of the largest paint manufacturers in Asia, has set up the first Paint Express at Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra.
Sharad Malhotra, vice-president of Nippon Paints (India), said: “We are happy to choose Gemini Automobiles as our franchisee to handle our operations in Navi Mumbai. Our short-term plan is to start at least 40 more workshops this year and our long-term goal is to reach 500 workshops around the country.”
Rajesh Grover, partner of Gemini Automobiles, added: “Nippon has helped us upgrade our workshop and technology to reach international standards.”
Nippon Paints, which has 33 manufacturing plants worldwide, produces over one million tonnes of paints and coatings annually. The company supplies the Nax Premila 2K range of paints to car manufacturers like Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi among others and is also a supplier to Toyota Kirloskar Motor in India. Nippon Paints also provides technical support for setting up a paint booth that can cater to all new-generation cars.
