As part of its aggressive product rollout strategy for FY2018-19, wherein Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) had on April 10, 2018 announced that it will launch about 18 upgrades (2018 edition) across its existing portfolio, the company has now rolled out the current year edition of its second largest selling scooter, the 110cc Dio.

The new updated Dio will now come in two variants, including a new deluxe variant. According to HMSI, it has updated the new Dio with a host of new cosmetic features including all-new LED headlamp, four-in-one lock with seat opener switch and hooks for convenience among others. The company has also announced the availability of mobile phone charging socket as a newly added convenience feature.

Meanwhile, the official release from the company states that the deluxe variant will come equipped with fully digital console, which will feature three step eco speed indicator and service due indicator.

The deluxe variant will also get gold coloured rims and new trendy colour options to enhance its premium appeal.

Speaking on the availability of 2018 Dio, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice-president, Sales and Marketing, HMSI, said, “Taking ahead the 15-year-old legacy of the Dio, the 2018 avatar is available in two variants. More youthful than ever with stylish new looks, new digital meter, three-step eco speed indicator and service due indicator, the new Dio raises the bar even further. The Dio is also the largest exported scooter from India and has crossed 500,000 exports milestone.”

The dependable and proven 110cc engine, equipped with Honda’s HET technology, continues to power the Dio scooter line-up.

The updated Dio scooters will be available in nine shades. While the standard variant will be offered in orange, yellow, red, blue and grey colour options, the deluxe trim will come in yellow, green, black, grey shades as options. The new updated Dio will come with a starting price tag of Rs 51,292 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Dio fourth largest-selling scooter in India
