Honda re-enters middleweight bike segment, opens bookings for CBR650R

Honda CBR 650R is the new 650cc bike from Honda that replaces the CBR 650F which was discontinued in India a few months back.

Honda re-enters middleweight bike segment, opens bookings for CBR650R

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has introduced its latest middleweight bike, the CBR650R. The 650cc in-line, four-cylinder bike replaces the outgoing CBR650F under Honda’s sports middleweight line-up. The booking amount for the bike that is priced under Rs 800,000 starts from Rs 15,000. The OEM claims that the bike is Made in India.

With a design that is inspired by the Fireblade brand, the CBR650R comes with a 649cc liquid-cooled, four-cylinder, DOHC 16-valve engine. The bike comes with Assist/slipper clutch and Honda Selectable Torque control (HSTC). The new CBR650R is said to be lighter than its predecessor by 6kg.

Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice-president - sales and marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India said, “Less than 2 weeks after the national launch of the CB300R, Honda is proud to unleash its second global blockbuster in the middle-weight segment under the Silver Wing-mark umbrella. After the 2019 global fun model line-up unveil in EICMA, Honda has now opened bookings for its new middle-weight sports machine CBR650R in India too.”

The bookings are open at Honda’s ‘Wing World’ dealerships across 22 cities. The bike is currently on offer in two colours – Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
