Honda opens bookings for CBU bikes in India

Honda motorcycles and scooters India have opened the bookings for CB1000R+, Gold Wing Tour DCT, CBR1000RR Fireblade and CBR1000RR Fireblade SP.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) commenced bookings for its 2019 CBU (Completely Built Unit) line up. Honda’s 2019 CBU line-up includes the new CB1000R+, Gold Wing Tour DCT, CBR1000RR Fireblade and CBR1000RR Fireblade SP.

Commenting on the announcement of new 2019 CBU import line up, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India said, “The models in the 2019 line up will be loaded with exciting new features and upgradation; moreover, the riders will experience Honda’s superior technology and thrill of riding. We welcome all our customers for the bookings starting today at Honda’s exclusive ‘Wing World’ outlets.”

Honda CB1000R+
The 2019 update comes with a slipper clutch and the Throttle by Wire (TBW) comes with 3 preset riding modes plus a ‘User’ setting [Power (P), Engine Brake (EB)] and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). CB1000R+ comes with quick shifter, heated grips and a range of pre-fit premium accessories that flesh out the CB1000R’s styling: metallic meter visor and seat cowl, front fender panel, hugger panel and radiator grill. The bike’s four-cylinder engine has been tuned to make peak power of 145hp @ 10,500rpm and 104Nm @ 8,250rpm of torque. It carries a new design language, which Honda calls 'Neo Sports Café'.

The new CB1000R+ is said to be lighter than the outgoing design, giving an improvement in power to weight ratio. The new look comes with a box section mono backbone steel frame, with Showa separate function front fork big piston USD Suspension up front and a Showa mono shock at the rear. Honda CB1000R+ will be available in Graphite Black color and priced at Rs 14.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Honda Gold Wing Tour DCT
Honda claims that the 2019 Gold Wing is more athletic and more engaging. Apple CarPlay integration and Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) are now standard features. 

Goldwing focusses on ensuring the comfort with easy to use controls on the central console and the handlebar. Gold Wing’s 1833cc flat six-cylinder engine features 4-valves per cylinder and produces peak power of 126hp @ 5500rpm and torque of 170Nm @4500rpm. Throttle by Wire has been added, with 4 rider modes (TOUR, SPORT, ECON and RAIN) to alter the engine’s character and power delivery. Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) maintains rear wheel traction while the suspension damping and Combined Brake System (CBS) alter depending on the mode selected.

The 2019 Gold Wing features DCT (Dual Clutch Technology) that comes with 7-speeds, clutch feel, shift speed and rpm range of up/downshifts. It also features a creep forward and backs function. It also features Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Idling Stop.

Honda Goldwing GL1800 DCT will be available in Candy Ardent Red color and is priced at Rs 27.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade and CBR1000RR Fireblade SP
The latest edition of Honda CBR1000RR, Fireblade introduces ‘Wheelie Control System’ that ensures higher security at acceleration. Moreover, the time lag after electric control has also been drastically reduced for better handling at a higher speed. 

At the heart of 2019, Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade is a 1000cc in-line four-cylinder engine, producing 191hp at 13,000rpm and 114Nm at 11,000rpm output mated to the six-speed transmission.

All these parameters can be precisely adjusted with the Riding Mode Select System (RMSS), Fireblade uses a full-color TFT liquid crystal dash to clearly communicate information to the rider, inspired by the RC213V-S street legal version of Honda’s MotoGP machine.  The Fireblade SP additionally gets semi-active Ohlins Electronic Control (S-EC) suspension at the front and rear (43mm NIX30 inverted forks up front and a TTX36 monoshock round the back), a quick shifter and downshift assist. 

The new Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade comes in 2 colors, which are Grand Prix Red and Matt Ballistic Black Metallic. CBR 1000RR Fireblade is attractively priced at Rs 16.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and CBR 1000RR Fireblade SP is priced at Rs 19.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
