Ford India slashes Figo, Aspire prices by up to Rs 91,000
Ford’s move to realign prices for the Figo and the Aspire follows its earlier price revision on the Ecosport, which took place in March as a counter against the introduction of Maruti’s compact SUV Vitara Brezza.
Bucking the trend of Indian carmakers hiking prices citing surging input costs, Ford India today slashed the pricing for its compact sedan Aspire and the Figo hatchback, by up to Rs 91,000.
Ford’s move to slash prices of its most selling models comes just days after the country’s top two carmakers Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor India hiked prices across model lineups by up to Rs 20,000.
Ford’s move to realign prices for the Figo and the Aspire follows its earlier price revision on the Ecosport, which took place in March as a counter against the introduction of Maruti’s compact SUV Vitara Brezza. The change in prices for the Ecosport did rekindle sales for the compact SUV and it even entered the top 5 UVs list in June.
Under the new pricing, Ford Aspire’s Titanium (+) variant will be available at Rs 680,150 (Ex-showroom Delhi, Petrol) and Rs 789,850 (Ex-Showroom Delhi, Diesel). The Figo’s top-end variants will now cost Rs 628,700 (Ex-Showroom Delhi, Petrol) and Rs 717,750 (Ex-Showroom Delhi, Diesel). The new prices are applicable with immediate effect.
“Offering technologically advanced and safe products are critical to our vision and commitment to customers,” said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India. “With the realignment of prices, Figo and Aspire are even more compelling for customers. The realignment also enhances the accessibility of these outstanding products, which offer segment-first safety features and class-leading technologies.”
