Auto Expo 2016: Mahindra to showcase XUV Aero Concept

Mahindra has released a teaser sketch of its new offering dubbed the XUV Aero concept, which points at a future production version an XUV500-based derivative from the manufacturer.

As seen in the teaser sketch, the overall design silhouette clearly points at Mahindra's attempt to bring in a stylish coupé-like SUV for the mass market. The concept is set to unveil at the 2016 Auto Expo. Currently in India, the coupé-SUV segment is populated by high-end luxury SUV offerings like the BMW X6 and the recently launched Mercedes GLE Coupe.

The XUV Aero concept’s styling mimics the XUV500 but gets a downward sloping roofline and is likely to come with horizontally positioned tail-lamps and a muscular bumper with faux diffusers. The concept will also be a demonstrator for Mahindra’s new infotainment and connectivity features that will feature on future production models.

The production version of the XUV Aero could be Mahindra’s new flagship and is likely to sit above the XUV500.
