Audi opens new showroom, lays out plans for 2009
Audi India opened a new showroom at Worli in Mumbai. On display at the 6150 square feet facility will be all six cars in Audi’s current model range — the A4, A6, A8, Q7, TT and the R8 supercar.
Audi’s latest showroom brings the carmaker's count of dealerships in India up to 12. According to Audi India’s MD, Benoit Tiers, this is the latest step in the company’s step-by-step plan to build the Audi brand in India.
Audi India sold 1,050 units against a target of 1,000 in 2008. This includes the sale of 350 Q7s, making it the largest selling luxury SUV in India. In 2009 Audi will roll out 1,000 units of the A6 and the A4 from its Aurangabad plant. Audi also plans to launch the Q5 in India in 2009.
