Andhra Pradesh gifts 5-year motor vehicle tax exemption to Isuzu
Exemption is on all Isuzu vehicles manufactured and purchased in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
In what can come as a fillip for consumers to buy Isuzu vehicles, the Andhra Pradesh government has exempted Isuzu vehicle buyers from payment of motor vehicle tax.
This exemption is available only for Isuzu vehicles purchased in Andhra Pradesh from November 18, 2016 till March 31, 2021. This comprises around 14% of the invoice value paid as one-time life tax, and quarterly road tax (Rs 800 per quarter) paid during the life of the commercial pickup trucks. The government order applies to all vehicles manufactured and sold by Isuzu Motors India, Sri City, Chittoor District.
The Motor Vehicle tax exemption will be available to the D-Max range of pickups manufactured at Sri City and purchased in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The exemption of lifetime tax will be available on the D-Max V-Cross and other passenger variants to be launched in future. Buyers of the D-Max S-Cab and Regular Cab (all commercial variants) will enjoy an exemption from paying the quarterly road tax.
Isuzu Motors is the first automobile company to set up an automobile manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. With an annual capacity of 50,000 units, which can be scaled up to 120,000 units in future, this plant manufactures Isuzu’s D-Max range of pickups. This includes the V-Cross adventure utility vehicle which caters to the passenger vehicle market and the D-Max S-Cab and Regular Cab which cater to commercial vehicle customers.
