Tata Elxsi partners BlackBerry for security in auto industry
Tata Elxsi and Blackberry partner for designing and developing solutions for automotive, industrial, medical and network communication industries.
Tata Elxsi, the global design and technology services company and part of the $100 billion Tata group, today announced that it is partnering with Canadian multinational BlackBerry that will help companies design and develop secure, mission-critical solutions for industries such as automotive, industrial, medical and network communication using BlackBerry QNX technologies.
Tata Elxsi will provide integration and customisation services for Blackberry solution software’s –QNX Neutrino Realtime OS, QNX Momentics Tool Suite, QNX Hypervisor, QNX SDK for Apps & Media, QNX Wireless Framework, QNX OS for Safety, QNX OS for Medical, QNX CAR Platform for Infotainment, QNX Platform for Acoustics, and QNX Platform for ADAS.
Blackberry has been working on automotive security that are vulnerable to cyber attacks. This includes vehicle access, software control, autonomous driving and changing state of software’s. It has developed seven pillars recommendation that will enhance cybersecurity in the automotive space. It works on securing the supply chain, using trusted software and hardware components that have been secured against security threats. Along with, separating safety and non-safety critical systems that ensure consistent communication between these systems and the outside world, regular monitoring of vehicle health, rapid reaction to incidents, proper lifecycle management that ensures secured over-the-air (OTA) updates for car software and using best practices and training organisations for safety and security.
