Sena starts shipping Momentum-series full-face Bluetooth helmets

Sena Technologies, a Bluetooth innovation company for two-wheelers, has begun shipping for its ‘Momentum’-series, full face helmets for bike riders. The helmets combine Bluetooth connectivity with advanced noise control technology that enables a rider to be connected with their phone, without cutting out the vital sounds like sirens, traffic among others.

The company states that it has started shipping the Momentum, Momentum INC and Momentum lite smart helmets to customers globally, that facilitates riders to experience quality audio experience without compromising on safety.

Momentum helmet: The helmet is equipped with its 20S technology packed into a sleek fibreglass shell, it claims the optimal speaker position combined with our Advanced Noise Control technology allows riders to effortlessly take calls, listen to music through their phone or the built in FM radio, audio multitasking, hear turn-by-turn GPS directions, even chat through the built-in intercom with up to eight other riders for 27 hours on single charge at a distance of up to 1.6 km. The helmet will be available in glossy white and matte black in sizes XS-XXL and will retail for $449 (Rs 28,363).

Momentum Lite helmet: It is equipped with its true 10 series technology in the same sophisticated shell design. Like all helmets in the Momentum series, the Lite comes with all of the features pre-installed and ready to be used straight out of the box. It allows for intercom with upto three other riders over a 1.6km distance, connection with smartphone for phone calls, music and GPS navigation, or the built in FM Radio. The Lite will will retail for $399 (Rs 25,204).

Momentum INC helmet: Along with the aforementioned Momentum models, it will also ship limited batch of Momentum INC (Intelligent noise control) helmet that uses the same 20S feature technology. The Momentum INC is equipped with an integrated noise-canceling technology which still allows a user to hear vital audio cues like sirens, traffic, and RPMs, that can be simply toggled through a button and the built-in INC module is ready to go. The module analyses sound information from an array of four networked microphones and adjusts in real time to phase out harmful high frequency wind noise. In addition to the INC mode, the helmet also features an Ambient Mode that can be easily switched on with a convenient button on the helmet's exterior, allowing the user to hear the environment around without removing the helmet. The Momentum INC will retail for $549 (Rs 34,680).

Sena claims that each helmet within the Momentum series is DOT approved and aerodynamically designed from composite fibreglass shell with multi-density EPS for added protection in the case of impact. The helmets are designed with an intricate ventilation system for chin and forehead air intakes, along with an exhaust port in the rear of the helmet. The helmet's visors are scratch and UV resistant, pinlock ready (Max Vision 120), and feature a quick release system for ease of use. It also includes a quick dry lining that's constructed with laser-cut foam and is removable and washable along with the chin curtain. The modern design full-face helmets are secured with a reinforced, nylon strap double d-ring retention system for a safe and comfortable fit.

The company has also said that it will soon introduce the Momentum Pro, and the Momentum INC Pro, which is equipped with an integrated action camera.
