The sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro sports car made its China debut today at an event in Shanghai.
Born in 1966, the Camaro has evolved over the past half-century. More than a million Camaros have been sold around the world.
The all-new sixth-generation model elevates every aspect of what made its predecessors a success. With more power, more agile handling and more technology, the all-new Camaro will deliver an original American-style performance car experience to Chinese car buyers.
For the China market, the all-new Camaro is available with a 2.0-litre turbo engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The all-new Camaro’s leaner, stiffer platform and slightly smaller dimensions are accentuated by a dramatic, sculpted exterior. Meticulously tuned in the wind tunnel, the exterior contributes to the performance through reduced aerodynamic lift for better handling while enhancing efficiency.
A driver-focused interior integrates class-leading control technologies, including a new Driver Mode Selector, a configurable instrument cluster and a customizable ambient lighting feature.
“The sixth-generation Camaro builds on what has made the current Camaro such a success, with more power, more agile handling, and more technology,” said Ken Parkinson, design vice-president, GM China and GM International at the launch event. “We took the Camaro's iconic design and redefined its bloodline for generations to come.”
