M&M launches double-cab Genio

Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the Genio DC, the double-cab version of the Genio pickup. The vehicle is targeted at small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) and businessmen alike.

M&M launches double-cab Genio
Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the Genio DC, the double-cab version of the Genio pickup. The vehicle is targeted at small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) and businessmen alike. It addition to being a cargo mover, the Genio double-cab seats five in two rows. The Genio DC comes with an mDI CRDe four-cylinder engine that develops 75bhp and 22.4kgm of torque.

The Denio DC is the fourth product to roll out of M&M’s Chakan plant in Maharashtra. In addition to the Bolero Maxi Truck and the Getaway, the Genio single-cab and now the double-cab will enhance Mahindra’s pickup range. The Genio DC will costs Rs 5.46 lakh (ex-showroom Karnataka, BS3) for the base version and Rs 5.95 lakh (ex-showroom Karnataka, BS 3) for the top-end version.

M&M developed the Genio at an initial investment of Rs 225 crore. The company is also working on a CNG-powered version and has plans to export the vehicle. The Genio DC will compete with the Tata 207Di which has both single and double-cab variants.
